Calhoun to host technology event

Calhoun Community College’s Technologies and Work Force Development Division will host a technology open house Nov. 5-6.

Times for the free event are 6 until 7:30 p.m. on both days and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Attendees can talk with program instructors in aerospace technology, air conditioning and refrigeration, design drafting technology, industrial technologies (electrical, instrumentation, and automation/robotics), industrial maintenance, machine tool technology and process technology.

Board of education to meet Thursday

The Decatur City Board of Education will elect board officers, consider an update of the drug-free workplace policy and vote on several Alabama Association of School Boards measures Thursday.

The monthly meeting starts at 4 p.m. in the central office.
