Morgan RAPP group to meet Thursday

The Morgan County Relatives as Parents Program support group meeting will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at The Apostolic Church of God, 605 Washington St. N.W., Decatur.

Kevin Crenshaw, attorney and legal consultant with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, will be the speaker. He will address issues relevant to grandparents and other relatives who have become the major caregivers for their grandchildren or other young relatives.

Resource Center to hold open house

ATHENS — Limestone County’s Family Resource Center will have an open house Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Jefferson Street in the Crutcher Shopping Center.

The center includes family-related programs such as Parents as Teachers, Food Bank and Crisis Center.

Morgan school board to elect officers

The Morgan County Board of Education will hold its annual organizational meeting Tuesday at Priceville High School.

The board will elect officers for 2007-08. Superintendent Bob Balch said the board would also discuss the sale of a piece of Priceville High School property during the 5:30 p.m. work session. The meeting follows at about 6.
