Salutes to veterans

Veterans attending the Cedar Ridge Middle School tribute to veterans Tuesday say the pledge with students. The CRMS program featured Lt. Col. Dwight Jett, top right, as speaker. Jett is also a member of the Decatur Board of Education.

Above, John Tolley salutes the flag, as color guard Shea Butler takes part in West Morgan High School’s Veterans Day tribute Friday morning. Tolley, of Charleston, S.C., is a Vietnam veteran who served 20 years in the U.S. Navy.

At Decatur High School’s Veterans Day assembly, right, U.S. Marines, from left, Cpl. Hysaw, Sgt. Stowell, Sgt. Sharp and Cpl. Palguta of Kilo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines present colors.
