Miss Merry Christmas pageant now accepting applications

CAPSHAW — The East Limestone High School Band is taking applications for its sixth annual Limestone County Miss Merry Christmas pageant.

The pageant is open to those living in Limestone County and the surrounding area. Cost is $40. Organizers ask that you register by Wednesday, but entries will be taken at the door.

The event is Saturday at 2 p.m. at McCandless Hall at Athens State University.

There are nine divisions from babies to seniors in high school. The senior division winner will receive a gift bag with items area businesses have donated.

There will be a winner and three alternates in each division.

Santa Claus will attend, and Dawn Hensley from Greenville, Ky., will be available at 10 a.m. to do hair and make-up.

Priceless Portraits from Huntsville will make pictures.

Forms are at Kids World, Pablos, Bennetts and Railroad Bazaar in Limestone County; First American Bank on U.S. 72 at Wall Triana in Madison; and Nathan’s in Decatur.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Proceeds benefit the band.
