Allegiant Air discontinues nonstop service to Las Vegas

Allegiant Air will discontinue its nonstop service between Huntsville International Airport and Las Vegas, beginning Dec. 11.

Maurice J. Gallagher, president and CEO of the discount airline, attributed the cancellation to rising fuel expenses.

Allegiant plans to continue operating out of Huntsville, currently offering nonstop flights to Orlando, Fla. Flights between Huntsville and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are scheduled to begin Dec. 13.

The company will contact customers affected by the service cancellation.

Nonstop flights between Huntsville and Las Vegas began Sept. 21. No other airlines offer direct flights from Huntsville to Las Vegas.
