Wreck victim remains in critical condition

A Decatur woman injured in a wreck earlier this week remained in critical condition at Huntsville Hospital on Thursday, according to a spokeswoman for the hospital.

April Renae Davis, 19, of Decatur was listed as a patient in the surgical intensive care unit.

According to a report released by Decatur police, Davis was traveling east on Chapel Hill Road Southwest shortly before 7 a.m. Tues- day when the wreck happened.

Davis' tires dropped off the right side of the roadway and she lost control of her car.

Davis overcorrected in an attempt to get back on the roadway and ran off the other side of the road, crashing in- to two trees, according to the report.

A MedFlight helicopter transported her to Huntsville Hospital.
