3 injured in fiery crash on I-10

MOBILE (AP) — A fiery crash that injured three people temporarily delayed eastbound traffic on Interstate 10 at Mobile on Friday.

The 2 p.m. crash involved a large truck that witnesses say caught fire and burned when struck by another vehicle.

The injured included a woman who was airlifted to a Mobile hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The other two, a husband and wife, were also taken to the University of South Alabama Medical Center's burn unit for treatment, but their injuries were not believed to be as critical. Names of the injured were not immediately released.

Inspectors from the Alabama Department of Transportation were called to the scene to inspect the bridge on I-10, which passes over U.S. 90 west of Tillman's Corner and east of Theodore.
