MEETING NOTES
Municipal Utilities Board

The Decatur Municipal Utilities Board took the following action Wednesday:

  • Approved $20,000 for membership dues in Electric Cities, an association of municipal-owned electric utilities.

  • Approved $260,000 to replace three reclosers and nine voltage regulators at the Eighth Street Substation.

  • Approved $12,000 to replace and relocate two defective poles on the west side of Grove Street Northwest beside the Butch Matthews baseball field to the east side of Grove Street.

  • Approved $78,000 to install recreational lights at the Butch Matthews baseball field.

  • Approved $31,000 to install a Musco Control Link System at T.C. Almon that allows officials off-site control of the baseball field lights.

  • Approved $55,000 to install recreational lights at the T.C. Almon T-Ball field.

  • Approved $16,620 to replace three Itron G5 meter reader handheld computers with Itron FC200 computers.

  • Approved $37,000 to Aramark to supply uniform rental service for 90 employees.

  • Approved $11,900 for an engineering study aimed at rerouting wash water piping at the Water Treatment Plant.
