Valley snapshots series fun time with newspaper

Tennessee Valley Snapshots begins as a five-day series in today's DAILY. It's a departure from past progress editions published annually in February because it tells the story of our region through pictures and not words.

Today's section is about Enterprise and will follow with Families, Education, Faith & Service and finally Recreation & Leisure.

The saying that a picture is worth a thousand words is true, sometimes. We hope this series is one of those occasions.

Readers responded with hundreds of their favorite pictures. Staff writers and photographers supplemented readers' generous offerings.

Together, and through captions with the pictures, they tell the story of who we are, where we live and give insight into those things we do and enjoy.

This project has been in the making for nearly four months. While the news side assembled pictures, our advertising department worked with businesses and industries whose messages also appear in the sections.

Publishing this series each year is a team effort. From the news and advertising departments, the sections pass through the production departments and finally to our carriers before reaching subscribers.

Hopefully, readers come away at the end of the week remembering the things that are important to the people of the Tennessee Valley.
