LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Democrats have no local monopoly on immorality

To The Daily: Where is the outrage from the Morgan County Republicans after seeing the goings-on in our county courthouse? I am shocked that they are not up in arms for the lack of leadership from our city and county officials. If your newspaper stories are correct, our commission officials are sending pornographic e-mails, our sheriff is rescuing his "estranged wife," and our city police officials are aiding in the scandalous behavior.

I thought immoral behavior was the reason Jeff Clark, Russ Beard, Greg Bartlett and other state and federal office holders changed to the Republican Party. However, I have not seen any of these men stand up or even make statements about how disgusting these Republican leaders are acting. Even our mayor just sent the pornographic e-mail back rather than reporting these extremely poor decisions by our commission chair. I will not get into the attempts to cover-up these unethical reports and who knew what when.

As a citizen of this great county, I am wondering what action can be taken to remove the offenders from office and return some "good old Southern values" back to our public offices.

Thank you and your newspaper for the great honest reporting you do. And please do not let the stories drop from our view.
