Bush has clear plan for victory in Iraq

To The Daily: President Bush has a clear plan for victory in Iraq. We are already making progress towards this objective. Earlier this year, Iraqi forces led the fight in clearing out terrorists during the crucial battle of Tal Afar, with U.S. troops in a supporting role. Every day, Iraqis are taking more control of the situation on the ground.

Withdrawing from Iraq, as some Democrats in Washington propose, would send a dangerous signal to our enemies that we cut and run when the going gets tough.

President Bush is offering a clear strategy to win, not a political quick fix. Our country needs to unite to support our common good, and stop lowering our countryís standards and standing in the world by indulging in unproductive internal sniping and one-upmanship.

Only 1 commissioner standing up for taxpayers

To The Daily: Stacy George does have a full-time job with Morgan County. If some feel he is wasting taxpayer money, so be it. He is doing his job when he stands up for the taxpayers and digs or fights for our rights. We had a right to know what the other elected officials were doing with our tax dollars.

Sending porn on our taxpayer equipment was not part of doing their jobs. Had they been doing their jobs, all these investigations would have never happened.

As for Sheriff Greg Bartlett, Revenue Commissioner Amanda Scott and Commissioners Jeff Clark, Ken Livingston and Kevin Murphy, they have spoken loud and clear by their actions through all this. They did not and still donít want us to know the real truth, and they will be reminded of this next election time. This is not going to be forgotten because the people who voted for them have been let down and left to assume they are hiding and covering up what the taxpayers have a right to know.

George, Jackson keep other officials in line

To The Daily: Can you stand one more opinion and comment on the soap opera at the courthouse?

Why do we have umpires and referees and other officials for our sports events? Answer: They are there to see that the ones who donít want to play by the rules are kept in line. That is why I commend and appreciate people like Stacy George on county boards and Billy Jackson on the city board. We elected them to attend to our business that we pay for and to keep those in line who donít want to play by the rules.

Regardless of what their classification is, they donít put the man they fired back on the job and pay him his back pay. Then they need to fire the others who were involved. If they donít, I would advise him to employ a good attorney and fight it all the way to Washington if it takes that.

I am a lifelong resident of Morgan County. I can and do vote and I am looking forward to the next elections.
