LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Treatment instills desire to return

To The Daily: I understand this is the first year that Lori Boger and the staff at the convention bureau have worked as the housing bureau for events in the Decatur/Morgan County area.

Our team, the Hoover Blue Angels U-13 Soccer team, will be competing in the Southeast Challenge the weekend of March 16-18. I want to commend Lori and staff in the service they provided for our team. Normally when we travel for a tournament, many hours are spent on the Internet and phone trying to secure a hotel reservation. Trips to a new city mean we donít know the area, how close the hotels are to the fields or how to secure the best rate.

Kudos to Decatur. One phone call to Lori and our hotels were secured. I was asked what our preferences were, given many options of location and the rate was great. Because of our experience, we are encouraging our city to consider staffing such a position — the service was A-plus. If anyone is concerned about how your dollars are being spent, you have nothing to worry about. Service like this will get you repeat customers.

Seniors competent behind the wheel

To The Daily: Thank you to Jack Morgan (Letters, Feb. 26). Seniors are good drivers. Sure there are some who make mistakes, but compare with teenagers and drivers with phones, drivers drinking and driving, those with poor vision, etc., and the statistics would show seniors are pretty good drivers.
