LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Media have lost perspective with coverage of Lucky

To The Daily: I grew up on a farm and have the utmost respect for animals.

While I sympathize with the plight of Lucky, I feel undue media coverage has been given to this story, whereas less coverage has been given to the abuse and murder of human beings or the taking of the precious lives of babies through abortions.

I really think our society as lost all sense of balance when we give more attention to animals.

Bill would provide another safe option for delivery

To The Daily: Thank you for the wonderful article about Alabama mothers driving to Tennessee to birth with midwives. It saddens me that the medical association is lobbying against the bill. There are certainly enough birthing women to go around — some who wish to birth in a hospital with medical interventions and others who prefer a more non-invasive birth.

I hope this legislation passes that allows women another safe option to obstetric care. Our family is supporting this bill, HB 199.
