Mayor lost clout when he signed ban

To The Daily: I just finished reading your Sept. 18 story about amending the smoking ban. The way it reads, it sounds like typical government runaround with each concerned party passing the blame off to the next.

I think the mayor dropped the ball when he signed the ban in the first place. By doing so, he gave up any position to bargain with the council.

It seems like we have a case of “the inmates running the asylum” with our local leaders.
