Sanctity of Human Life service Sunday

Friendship United Methodist Church in Athens will observe “Sanctity of Human Life Sunday” with a service Sunday at 6 p.m.

Speakers will be photojournalist Michael Clancy and Brian Rohrbough, father of a boy killed in the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado. Micah Walley, a worship leader in Florence, will speak to youths in the church gym. Walley is involved with Pure Life Revolution and The Call in Nashville. Unchained of Athens will lead worship.

The event is also sponsored by Sav-A-Life of Limestone County.

176th Episcopal convention February

The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama will convene in Tuscaloosa for its 176th meeting. Sessions will be Feb. 15, starting with registration at 1:30 p.m., through Feb. 17 at 12:30 p.m. Among speakers will be the Rev. Duncan Gray, bishop of the Diocese of Mississippi.
