Curtis Coleman, former religion professor and dean at Athens State University, recently published "Stop, Look and Listen," a collection of inspirational essays.

Coleman retired from the university in 1998 after 32 years as a professor.

He has written weekly newspaper columns since his retirement and has drawn from them for his book.

Robert White, professor of religious studies at ASU, said that Coleman's book offers more than self-help.

"It is about living with faith and wisdom. The book is an extension of Dr. Coleman's life and teaching," White said.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Center of Religious Studies and Ethics at ASU.

A book signing will be in the parlor of Founders Hall on Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Copies will also be available at Pablo's on Market in Athens.
