Free women’s conference here

Sandy LeSourd, widow of Len LeSourd, editor of Guideposts magazine, will speak at Austinville Church of God, 2018 Cleveland Ave. S.W.

The author of “The Compulsive Woman” and other books, she will address a women’s conference April 14 at 10 a.m. Her topic will be “Overcoming the Baggage of Your Life.”

The event is free. Women are invited to bring a sack lunch; drinks and dessert will be provided.

LeSourd, who lives in Stowe, Vt., also will speak at the church April 15 at 10:30 a.m. Call 353-2342 for more information.

Physician to speak about Crucifixion

Dr. David Ball of Batesville, Miss., and the Cross Ministry will present a multimedia program about Jesus’ Crucifixion at East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle.

The service will be April 1 at 10:30 a.m.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Ball is a physician who has studied and written medical journal articles about how Jesus died. The presentation will use theatrical lights, sound effects, slides and live narration.

Cullman Christian School to open

Cullman Christian School will open in August with classes for students age 4 through eighth grade.

The school will meet in the Christian Life Center of East Side Baptist Church in downtown Cullman.
