Calvary to host Ruben Studdard

Calvary Assembly of God Church is moving its annual July festival to its future home on Alabama 20, west of Interstate 65. American Idol winner Ruben Studdard will be the special guest.

Hip-hop recording artist DPB will also perform. Other guests will include Reason, Southern Spirit Allstars and Calvary’s “Christmas Now and Then” toy characters.

“Celebrate America” will be Sunday starting at 5:30 p.m. and ending with a fireworks show. Passes are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and younger get in free. Discounts are available for military personnel, law enforcement personnel and veterans.

Tickets will be sold for food, beverages and additional attractions. The event also includes hot-air balloon rides, an antique car show, giveaways and a motorcycle exhibition.
