Diversity group to meet July 17

A monthly diversity dinner, “One Huntsville,” will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ryan’s Restaurant, 1808 University Drive.

The speaker will be Jacqueline Strong Moss, director of multicultural affairs for Chattanooga. Her topic will be “The Chattanooga Story: A Continuing Transformation from Fragmentation to Wholeness.” Call 536-2402.

Baptists seek ‘Minister of Year’

Samford University in Birmingham is seeking nominations for Alabama Baptist Minister of the Year. Nominees may serve any size church, be retired or serve as a director of missions. The school is also seeking Layperson of the Year nominees. The deadline is Aug. 17. Honorees will be recognized at a luncheon Oct. 1 at Samford.
