AU puts up 12 runs in win over Rebels

AUBURN (AP) — Ben Sprague drove in three runs and Josh Sullivan allowed four runs in six innings to lead Auburn to a 12-4 victory over Ole Miss on Saturday night.

Sullivan (7-4) allowed two unearned runs in the first inning, then retired 12 of the next 16 batters. He gave up eight hits, walked two and fanned three.

Sprague led Auburn's (30-19, 11-12 Southeastern Conference) offense with two hits and two runs. Karl Amonite had three hits and a walk, scoring a career-high four runs.

Tyler Johnsone had two hits and three RBIs and Josh Bell had three hits and scored three runs.

The loss went to Ole Miss (34-15, 12-11) starter Matt Maloney (5-2), who gave up seven runs on 10 hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
