Alabama Best & Worst of Saturday

  • BEST SMACK TALK: "You can count your championships on two fingers!" — an elderly Alabama fan to young LSU fans on the way to the stadium.
  • BEST ONSIDE KICK: Alabama Jamie Christensen slid his foot over the ball perfectly to go exactly 10 yards before Tide safety Jeffrey Dukes recovered it. The play caught LSU completely off-guard.
  • WORST BLOCKING JOB: The recent problem with the Alabama offensive line resurfaced in the second half. Quarterback John Parker Wilson was flushed out of the pocket consistently and had little time to make his decisions. When he did, he often tucked the ball and ran.
  • WORST ATMOSPHERE: Yeah, it sounds weird, but a lot of home fans had gone by the start of the fourth quarter. Makes you wonder if the game was being played at Vanderbilt or Death Valley.
