Grading The Tigers

DECATUR DAILY Sports Writer Bradley Handwerger grades Auburn's performance in its 37-15 loss to Georgia on Saturday, giving the Tigers a letter grade from A+ to F in four categories.

Offense D+

The offensive line couldn't block. Brandon Cox couldn't pass. Four turnovers. And the running backs couldn't find any room to run. Lackluster performance is cause for concern.

Defense D

Turnovers by the Auburn offense didn't help the defense, but allowing 446 total yards to Georgia and poor tackling made it worse. Despite changes in personnel, nothing helped.

Special teams B

Tristan Davis' 40-yard return helped, but punter Kody Bliss had an uncharacteristically poor performance, including a 29-yard punt and an 18-yarder.

Overall D+

D-plus might be too generous. Turnovers. Sacks. Big plays allowed by the defense. Seven first-half passing yards. All-around poor performance.
