West Morgan downs Danville for home win

Phillip Powell turned in 14 points, 15 rebounds and five assists to help West Morgan High’s boys basketball team to its second win in two nights with a 70-49 win Saturday over Danville.
On Friday, West Morgan beat Falkville 53-40.
Against the Hawks, Micah Randolph had 11 points, five rebounds and five steals. David Pritchard added 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Grant Harbin pitched in 10 points.
For Danville, Zack Orr scored 22 points, and Russell Standridge scored 14 and Roger Smith 11.
West Morgan (5-3) will face Tanner at home Tuesday, while Danville plays the same day at Hatton.
Brooks 72, Lawrence County 60: Myles King paced the Red Devils (8-2) with 21 points, six rebounds and four steals.
Matthew Pugh added 15 points and seven rebounds.
For Brooks, Tyler Cook had 21 points, and Blake Burns scored 14.
Lawrence County 73, Brooks 66: Shea Mason had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Red Devils (9-1), while Jasma McDonald added 14 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals.
Nakia McDaniel poured in 19 points, and Sallie Burch contributed 10 points and nine assists.
For Brooks, Miranda Lyle had 22 points.
East Limestone 73, Athens Bible 64: Shaenika Harris paced East Limestone with 20 points, and Danielle Jefferson pitched in 16. Emily Brackeen added 14 and Rayo Pride 11.
Kirsten McClure had 25 points for Athens Bible (2-6), while Lindsey McClure contributed 10. Katie Eubanks added 10 points and seven assists. Chelsea Burgess pulled down nine rebounds.
Hazlewood 62, Mars Hill 57: Amber Jones had 13 points for Hazlewood (6-3), which got at least three points from eight different players.
Jasmine Patton added 12 points.
Sarah Baily led Mars Hill with 26 points.
Danville 43, West Morgan 22: Bethany Evans led the Lady Hawks with 13 points and three steals.
Lauren Simmons contributed nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Magen Linderman added nine points.
