DAILY CLASS 4A-6A ALL-AREA DEFENSE

DL: Karlos Jones, Sr.,
Athens

A valuable two-way player for state champion Athens, he had 104 tackles. including 12 sacks. He also was the Golden Eagles’ best at short-yardage stops.

DL: Alfred McCullough, Sr.,
Athens

Had 13 sacks this season, anchoring the state champion Golden Eagles’ line. Totaled 89 tackles and caused two fumbles.

DL: Daniel Filiatrault, Sr.,
Hartselle

This nose guard was the Tigers’ top defensive lineman. Totaled 66 tackles, including four for lost yardage.

LB: Caleb Blanton, Sr.,
Hartselle

A three-year starter, he led the Tigers with 125 stops, including seven sacks and 13 tackles for lost yardage.

LB: Ty Chancelor, Sr.,
Austin

Played inside linebacker and led Austin with 122 tackles. Also had three sacks, two blocked kicks and two interceptions.

LB: Rolando McClain, Sr.,
Decatur

Had 106 tackles for the Red Raiders, including 13 for lost yardage. He also recorded four sacks.

LB: T.T. Martin, Sr.,
Austin

Made 89 tackles and six sacks. Also blocked four kicks, broke up five passes, intercepted a pass and recovered three fumbles.

LB: Jeff Leonard, Sr.,
Athens

Was the Golden Eagles tackling leader with 111 stops. Also intercepted three passes this season.

LB: Michael Reed, Jr.,
Hartselle

Had 113 tackles this season, including six for lost yardage and three sacks. Also caused four fumbles and recovered one for a touchdown.

LB: Cameron Nye, Sr.,
E. Limestone

One of the toughest players on East Limestone’s roster, he had a team-high 131 tackles, including 12 for lost yardage and four sacks. Also led the Indians with seven fumbles caused.

DB: Lonny Sutton, Sr.,
Priceville

Made 44 tackles. Also led the team with five interceptions for the Bulldogs, returning one for a touchdown.

DB: Dewon Tisdale, Sr.,
Athens

Had 76 tackles and three interceptions for state champion Athens. Also had 349 yards receiving for four touchdowns.

DB: Quinn Dunlap, Sr.,
Hartselle

A three-year starter, he had 59 tackles, intercepted a team-high five passes and blocked two punts and a field goal.

DB: Duron Robinson, Sr.,
Ardmore

In addition to standing out at free safety, he was a solid receiver, catching 25 passes for 305 and two scores. He returned two kickoffs for scores.

P: Ray Canafax, Sr.,
Hartselle

Punted 32 times for a 34.7 average. He also was a perfect 36-of-36 on extra points and made 8-of-12 field goals.
