West Morgan wins in OT to finish third

Another day, another overtime game for West Morgan High’s boys basketball team.
Playing in the West Point Christmas Tournament third-place game, the Rebels beat the hosts 56-53 on Saturday. West Morgan fell to Cold Springs in an overtime game Friday.
Against West Point, the Rebels (11-5) trailed 29-20 at halftime and 35-29 after three quarters before outscoring their opponents 19-13 in the fourth period.
Phillip Powell paced the Rebels with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and nine of his points came after three quarters of play. Micah Randolph added 12 points and eight rebounds. Like Powell, he shined late, scoring eight points in the fourth quarter and overtime combined.
Blake Gholston added 10 points, and Chandler Culver pulled down five rebounds.
For West Point, Nick Graham had 24 points.
Ardmore boys 71, Elkmont 45: The Tigers won the Elkmont Lions Club Christmas Tournament, taking control with a big third quarter.
Ardmore (12-5) led 31-22 at halftime and then outscored Elkmont 21-7 in the third period.
Matthew Clem led the winners with 23 points. Will Lewis added 17, and Landon Curtis had 10.
For Elkmont, Tom Logan had 23 points, and Tim Wooldridge scored 12.
West Limestone boys 51, Westminster Christian 46: Zane Campbell produced 12 points, 14 rebounds and 13 blocked shots to lead the Wildcats (8-7) in the third-place game of the Elkmont tournament.
Cody Herring added 13 points, and Travis Jackson had 10.
For Westminster, Stephen Six had 14 points, and Matt Rolin pitched in 10.
Cherokee County boys 76, Priceville 68: The Bulldogs fell in a consolation game in the Oneonta Christmas Tournament.
They trailed by 17 at halftime and 21 after three quarters before rallying. They cut the lead to as little as five points in the final period but couldn’t get any closer.
Josh Bedwell had 30 points and 12 rebounds for Priceville (10-7). JaColby Reid had 14 points, and K.C. Green scored 13. Robert Varner pulled down five rebounds.
