Lawrence County undefeated in area play

Lawrence County High’s boys basketball team remained unbeaten in Class 4A, Area 15 play with a 74-72 win Tuesday over rival East Lawrence.

Lawrence County sits at 13-5 overall and 4-0 in the area with two area games to play.

Myles King had 23 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Red Devils, while Will Inman scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers. He sank three treys in the opening quarter.

Matthew Pugh had 10 points and six rebounds.

For East Lawrence, Dakota Matthews and Kenneth Bolding each had 17 points.

R.A. Hubbard 62, Athens Bible 36: Quinn McGhee’s 13 points and five rebounds paced the Chiefs, who led 26-8 at halftime.

Finnis Hogan added 12 points, six assists and three steals. Xavier Hampton also pitched in 12 points.

For Athens Bible, Joseph Baker had 17 points.

West Limestone 57, Priceville 54: Zane Campbell nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Wildcats (9-7) over Priceville.

Campbell finished with 24 points and seven rebounds. Cody Herring added 16 points, and Darius Smith pitched in 10.

For Priceville, Josh Bedwell scored 26 points, and JaColby Reid added 12.

Clements 59, Lexington 50: Blake Moore’s 19 points and eight rebounds led the way for Clements.

Cody Arnold added 15 points and five assists. For Lexington, Will Garner had 14 points.

Girls

Lawrence County 58, East Lawrence 56, OT: East Lawrence trailed at the end of every quarter before outscoring the Lady Red Devils 16-13 in the fourth quarter to make it 49-49. That forced overtime, and Lawrence County won the extra period 9-7.

For Lawrence County, Shea Mason had 27 points and 11 rebounds, and Joanna Cain contributed 10 points and six rebounds. Sallie Burch had seven points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Paige Hood had 16 points for East Lawrence, and Paris Davis added 13.

R.A. Hubbard 68, Athens Bible 48: Berneshia Harris had 28 points and 21 rebounds as the Lady Chiefs beat ABS.

Chasity Puryear had 21 points, four rebounds and five steals for R.A. Hubbard, and Katie Eubanks scored 13 to lead ABS.

West Limestone 78, Priceville 59: Natalie Harrison scored 27 points to lead West Limestone, and Savanna Smith added 19 points and six assists.

Elizabeth Dison had 16 points and eight assists, and Morgan Adams pitched in 10 points.

For Priceville, Marissa Chambers scored 17 points, while Melissa Johnson scored 13 and Keila Hamlin 11.

Addison 66, Parrish 28: Jessy Willingham had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs (8-4) in a win over Parrish (8-5).

Haley Wiggins added 20 points and five rebounds, and Kayla Carden contributed 10 points and six rebounds.
