Moody cans 26 points for Speake
Bobcats improve to 11-2 with win over Danville

Jacob Moody scored 26 points to pace Speake to an 80-59 win over Danville on Thursday. Juarez Fitzgerald, K.C. Orr and Javaris Stover helped Moody, scoring 14, 13 and 12, respectively, for the Bobcats (11-2).

Zack Orr of Danville led all scorers with 32 points.

Speake hosts Lynn on Friday.

Madison Academy 57, Brewer 44: Rusty Boyd led Brewer with 10 points and eight rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to hold off Madison Academy, which overcame a three-point halftime deficit.

Kohl Sowder added 10 points for the Patriots (7-10).

Bawa Maniru paced the Mustangs with 17 points, and Elliott Johnson had 11.

Brewer hosts East Lawrence on Friday.

R.A. Hubbard 80, Tharptown 28: Eleven Chiefs scored as R.A. Hubbard (9-4) cruised past Tharptown of Franklin County. Willie Shephard scored 16 points and had three assists, Tyler Stanley added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Quinn McGhee recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds for Hubbard.

Girls

Speake 44, Danville 30: Malea Hensley’s 14 points and eight rebounds paced the Lady Bobcats past Danville. Kylie Black added 12 points for Speake (4-9).

Lauren Simmons led Danville with 12 points.

Speake hosts Lynn on Friday.

Addison 50, Lynn 33: Kayla Carden scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Britney Taylor added seven points and seven assists as Addison improved to 9-4.

Also for Addison, Haley Wiggins had 12 points and Jessy Willingham had 11.

Addison is at West Point on Saturday.

R.A. Hubbard 67, Tharptown 38: Monique Hampton scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Hubbard to the
win.

Chasity Puryear added 13 points, six rebounds and three assists, Bernisha Harris had 12 points and seven boards, and Desarae Ricks contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds.
