Heath Alford scored 13 of his team-high 17 points in the second half to help Falkville High’s boys basketball team beat Priceville 66-57 on Friday night.

Joseph Lacy added 15 points, and Steven Lindsey had 11.

For Priceville, Josh Bedwell scored 24 points, and JaColby Reid pitched in 12. Robert Varner scored 11.

Lawrence County 64, Fairview 50: The Red Devils clinched the Class 4A, Area 15 regular-season championship with a home win over Fairview.

Matthew Pugh had 20 points and eight rebounds to pace Lawrence County (14-5, 5-0 in the area), and Durman Cunningham had 14 points and 16 rebounds. Chasten Echols pitched in 11 points, and Cody Harville had 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Brewer 82, East Lawrence 71: After trailing 34-33 at halftime, the Patriots rallied with a balanced scoring attack, led by Alex Brown’s 17 points.

Five others scored at least nine points, including Chris Humphries (16 points), Rusty Boyd (15), Kohl Sowder (12), Rodney Childs (11) and Jeremy Widener (nine).

Russ Stephenson’s 22 points paced East Lawrence, while Dakota Matthews added 15. Jared Grimes pitched in 13, and Kenneth Bolden had 10.

Ardmore 55, Clements 52: The winning Tigers got 17 points each from Matthew Clem and Landon Curtis. Jake Stagner added 12 points.

For Clements, Blake Moore scored 20 points, and O’Neal Vance pitched in 14. Josh Eaton scored 10.

Tanner 85, Hatton 52: The Rattlers bolted out to a 48-25 halftime lead and cruised from there.

Latraius Mosley had 19 points to lead Tanner (11-4), while Demarcus King added 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Rod Byrd pitched in 14 .

For Hatton, Darren Hand scored 21 points.

Speake 76, Lynn 41: Juarez Fitzgerald scored 19 points and passed out four assists to lead Speake (12-2), while K.C. Orr added 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Jacob Moody pitched in 14 points, and Javaris Stover contributed 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Matt Cagle led Lynn with 13 points.

Lauderdale County 69, West Limestone 58: Zane Campbell’s season-high 34 points weren’t enough to lift West Limestone in a loss to Lauderdale County. Campbell added 11 rebounds.

Travis Jackson added 14 points, and Cody Herring pulled down seven rebounds.

For Lauderdale County, Ethan Wallen scored 24 points, and Robin Horton added 22.

Cornerstone Christian 74, Mountain View Baptist 36: Matt Pettit had 22 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals for the winning Cougars (10-1), while Jason Clark added 19 points and 14 rebounds. Brett Stowe contributed 16 points and five rebounds.

Girls

Priceville 66, Falkville 32: A pair of ninth-graders led the Priceville win.

Freshman Melissa Johnson had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs, and another freshman, Allison White, contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Keila Hamlin passed out 10 assists.

Katie Annerton scored 17 points for Falkville.

Athens 67, Lee 46: Jenae Strong’s 21 points and nine steals led the way for the Lady Golden Eagles (13-3).

Candace Bone added 12 points, and Courtney Medlen scored 11 points. Keona Shoulders pulled down 11 rebounds, and Sierra Caudle made five steals.

Speake 75, Lynn 23: Revia Brown, a senior, sank seven 3-pointers on her way to 29 points in Speake’s win. She added seven assists and six steals.

Also for the Lady Bobcats (5-9), Kylie Black had 22 points and 15 rebounds.

Brewer 73, East Lawrence 54: Courtney Scott paced the Lady Patriots (9-6) with 15 points and 16 rebounds, and Morgan Crawley added 12 points and nine assists. Meagan Hormel scored 12 points, and Genie Browning had 11.

For East Lawrence, LaKendra Wright had 27 points, and Paige Hood added 17.

Lawrence County 58, Fairview 22: Sallie Burch paced the Lady Red Devils (17-3) with 16 points, four assists and 10 steals.

The victory helped Lawrence County improve to 5-0 in Class 4A, Area 15. Nakia McDaniel added 14 points, and Jasma McDonald contributed 10 points and seven steals.

Tanner 74, Hatton 49: After leading 34-30 at halftime, Tanner broke out in the second half for a big win.

Hollye Keenum paced the winners with 27 points, and Cecily Woods and Mikala Malone each added 12.

Emily Shelton led Hatton with 17 points, and Grace Harrison contributed 14 points and six rebounds. Kaitlyn Fleming passed out five assists.

Lauderdale County 74, West Limestone 49: Elizabeth Dison had 17 points and four assists as the Lady Wildcats (5-12) fell to Lauderdale County.

Natalie Harrison added 13 points.
