Tanner High’s boys basketball team avenged a loss earlier this season with a 60-36 home win over West Morgan on Friday night.
The Rebels won the first matchup at West Morgan 59-57 on Dec. 12, 2006.
On Friday, Rod Byrd paced Tanner (15-4) with 14 points, while Richard Nasseri and Demarcus King each added 11 points. Latraius Mosley scored 10 points.
Byrd, Nasseri and Mosley each had eight rebounds.
For West Morgan, Micah Randolph scored 13 points.
East Lawrence 50, Speake 47: Roy Young had 13 points for East Lawrence, which got at least a point from 10 different players.
For Speake, Juarez Fitzgerald had 19 points.
Danville 62, Addison 45: The Hawks picked up their second win of the year with a victory over Addison.
Zach Orr paced Danville with 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Russell Standridge added 17 points and nine rebounds. Preston Boyd’s 17 points led Addison.
Falkville 65, Hatton 59: Joseph Lacy poured in 30 points as Falkville (10-7) scored a win. Heath Alford added 14 points.
For Hatton, Darren Hand scored 26 points, and Landon Campbell pitched in 16 points.
Decatur Heritage 60, R.A. Hubbard 54: Zach Woodruff had 17 points and six rebounds to pace the Eagles (13-7, 4-1 in Class 1A, Area 15), and De’el Watkins added 11 points.
Bo Godwin contributed eight points, four assists and three steals to the victory.
Quinn McGhee had 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead R.A. Hubbard, while Darius Grant added 15 points after sinking three 3-pointers. Xavier Hampton scored 11 points and passed out three assists.
West Limestone 63, Clements 41: Zane Campbell had 32 points and seven rebounds. Travis Jackson had 10 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.
For Clements, Blake Moore had 16 points and Sean Bachelor added 13.
Fairview 57, Priceville 41: Priceville senior Josh Bedwell netted 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds but the Bulldogs fell on the road.
Robert Varner added 11 points and eight rebounds for Priceville (11-10).
Priceville will travel to play Brewer High on Tuesday.
Athens 70, East Limestone 52: In a battle of ranked teams, Lacresha Horton had 15 points to lead Athens, which is No. 4 in Class 5A. Keona Shoulders added 14 points, while Jenea Strong had 13 and Sierra Caudle 10.
Strong and Caudle each had nine rebounds.
For East Limestone, ranked 10th in 4A, Shanika Harris had 20 points, and Emily Brackeen and Danielle Jefferson each had 10.
R.A. Hubbard 58, Decatur Heritage 47: Chasity Puryear had 19 points and six assists to lead the Lady Chiefs, and Bernisha Harris pitched in 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals.
Dezarae Ricks contributed a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with nine points. Whitney Ashford and Travia Ashford each had four assists.
Decatur Heritage’s Brittany Denson had 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals, and Candace Lee added 11 points. Lou Ellen Thompson scored 10.
East Lawrence 66, Speake 59: Paige Hood paced East Lawrence with 26 points and 13 rebounds, and LaKendra Wright added 18 points and seven assists.
Speake’s Kylie Black produced 29 points and 20 rebounds, and Malea Hensley added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Priceville 58, Fairview 50: Adrianna Delatorre had 15 points for Priceville (12-8), and Keila Hamlin added 11.
Melissa Johnson and Abbie Harris each had nine rebounds.
Addison 38, Danville 28: Jessy Willingham had 18 points and six rebounds to lead Addison. Haley Wiggins pitched in 10 points and seven rebounds.
For Danville, Alaina Fitzgerald had 14 points.
Hatton 63, Falkville 45: Hatton senior Grace Harrison nailed a career-high 24 points to pace the Lady Hornets (11-8), while Chloe Malone added 14 points and six rebounds. Kaitlyn Fleming passed out eight assists.
For Falkville, Alesia Smith scored 14 points, and Katie Annerton added 13.
Ardmore 53, Columbia 47: Matthew Clem’s 17 points led Ardmore (14-6), and Will Lewis had 12 points. Duron Robinson pitched in 10 points.
For Columbia, Holt Claiborne scored 12 points.
West Limestone 56, Clements 54: Natalie Harrison’s 22 points led the Lady Wildcats, and Elizabeth Dison pitched in 13.
For Clements, Jordan Beggs had 19 points, and Jessica Petty had 13.
