Tanner boys record seventh straight win

Tanner Highís boys basketball team won its seventh straight game with a 61-44 home win over West Limestone on Monday.

The Rattlers, ranked 10th in Class 2A, havenít lost since falling at 6A power Sparkman on Dec. 23.

Against West Limestone, Tannerís Richard Nasseri had 17 points, and Demarcus King added 14.

Zane Campbell had 11 points to pace the Wildcats.

Madison Academy 66, Decatur Heritage 41: Coming off two straight wins over 1A, Area 15 rival R.A. Hubbard by a combined 10 points, seventh-ranked Decatur Heritage fell to the defending 3A championship in a game at Alabama-Huntsville.

Madison Academy, ranked fourth, used a 35-19 rebounding edge to beat the Eagles (13-8).

Daniel Long paced Decatur Heritage with 11 points. He sank all three of his 3-point shots and the only 2-point shot he attempted. Bo Godwin added eight points and four assists, and Nik Butz had eight points and six rebounds. Jordan Lee passed out three assists.

For Madison Academy, Bawa Muniru had 11 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots. Kerron Johnson added 11 points.
