Elkmont boys, girls move on

TANNER — Tom Logan scored 19 points to pace Elkmont High’s boys to a 56-46 win over Athens Bible in the Limestone County Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday.

The Red Devils used a full-court press to limit Athens Bible and advance. Elkmont will face West Limestone in the semifinals Friday. The tournament is off Wednesday, but will resume Thursday with a pair of semifinal games.

The East Limestone and Clements girls will play at 6:30 p.m., and the Tanner and East Limestone boys will face off at 8 p.m.

For Athens Bible, Joseph Baker scored 16 points, and Jeremy Couey added 12. Will Stinnett scored 11 points.

West Limestone boys 45, Clements 41: Zane Campbell scored 27 points, pulled down six rebounds and blocked five shots to lead the Wildcats (12-11).

Travis Jackson added a team-high seven rebounds.

For Clements, Seth Bachelor had 13 points, and Cody Arnold scored 12.

Elkmont girls 76, Ardmore 61: The Lady Red Devils placed four players in double figures in a quarterfinal victory.

Jamie Lack scored 20 points, while Bailee Robinson added 19. Olivia Pressnell had 13, and Amber Harwell chipped in 12.

For Ardmore, Jennifer Mills scored 17 points. Haley Drake and Shannon Fogg each pitched in 12, and Brittney Mills scored 10.

Elkmont will play again Friday against Tanner, which has won nine of its last 10.
