SEC coaches pick S. Carolina

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — South Carolina was picked to win the Southeastern Conference baseball title by league coaches while Arkansas was the choice for the Western Division title.

Coaches tapped the Gamecocks to win their first SEC championship since 2002 and third overall in balloting released Wednesday.

The Gamecocks received seven votes to win the overall title while the Razorbacks picked up three and Vanderbilt two.

SEC coaches picked Vandy to finish second in the East, followed by Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.

The predicted order in the West: Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Mississippi State. Arkansas received the maximum 66 points to win the division.
