East Lawrence High’s girls basketball team outlasted Priceville in overtime to win 61-57 in the Class 4A, Area 15 tournament Thursday.

The Lady Eagles outscored Priceville 9-5 in the extra period.

Paige Hood led East Lawrence (14-12) with 26 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists. LaKendra Wright added 16 points and five steals.

Allison White led Priceville with 16 points, and Keila Hamlin added 14.

Lawrence County 52, Fairview 33: Ten Lawrence County players scored, led by Nakia McDaniel’s 17 points, and the Lady Red Devils moved into Monday’s tournament finals against East Lawrence.

Also for Lawrence County, Sallie Burch had 11 points.

Class 1A, Area 11

Mount Hope 41, St. Bernard 39: The Lady Yellow Jackets’ win over St. Bernard secured the first sub-state playoff appearance in school history.

For three quarters, it didn’t appear that was going to happen. But the Lady Yellow Jackets scored 22 fourth quarter points to grab the win.

Tamara Robinson led Mount Hope (12-10) with 19 points and 10 steals. Laura Rutherford added eight points and 14 rebounds. Jordan Burt led St. Bernard (15-10) with 14 points.

Speake 68, Meek 52: Kylie Black nearly outscored Meek alone, tossing in 41 points while also grabbing 16 rebounds as Speake (11-15) moved into the tournament finals against Mount Hope.

No other Lady Bobcat scored in double figures in a game that was tied 26-26 at halftime.

Class 1A, Area 15

R.A. Hubbard 62, Decatur Heritage 47: Bernisha Harris scored 26 points and
Chasity Puryear scored 12 points, recorded six assists, and had four steals to lead R.A. Hubbard

Sachahla Hampton added 10 points and 12 rebounds and Deszarae Ricks grabbed 13 rebounds.

For Decatur Heritage, Brittany Denson scored 24 points and Candace Lee had 20.

Hazlewood 74, Tharptown 33: Thirteen Lady Golden Bears scored, led by Amber Jones’ 29 as Hazlewood moved into Monday’s area tournament finals against R.A. Hubbard.

Hazlewood (24-6) led 39-18 at halftime.

Class 2A, Area 10

Addison 56, Winston County 30: The win moved Addison (19-7) into the tournament finals against Cold Springs on Saturday.

Jessy Willingham led all scorers with 22 points and also picked up seven rebounds and three assists. Britney Taylor and Kali Lake combined for seven steals.

Class 2A, Area 15

Hatton 54, West Morgan 34: Hatton’s full-court press proved too much for West Morgan as the Lady Hornets (16-11) pushed into the tournament finals on Monday.

Grace Harrison led Hatton with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Tanner 68, Falkville 28: Tanner (20-8) held Falkville to 13 first half points on its way to the 40-point win. Tanner’s Hollye Keenum led all scorers with 28 points, while Diedra Troupe and Cecily Woods each scored 10 points.

Alesia Smith led Falkville with 11 points.

Class 3A, Area 11

Danville 55, Vinemont 39: Kristen Sparkman scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and had three blocked shots and steals to lead Danville (17-12) to the win.

Lauren Simmons added 14 points, and Bethany Evans had 11 points and six assists.

Danville will play Good Hope, a 58-51 winner over Hanceville, in the tournament finals on Saturday.

Class 4A, Area 14

Ardmore 65, Madison County 51: Jennifer Ratley scored 14 points and made 10 of 12 from the free throw line. Also for Ardmore, Shannon Fogg had 14 points and six rebounds, and Landra Curtis had 12 points.

Jordan Harless’ 21 points led Madison County.
