Korpi's 5 RBIs carry
West Morgan

Senior Daniel Korpi went 3-for-4 with three doubles and five RBIs and West Morgan drilled East Limestone 12-4 in high school baseball action Thursday afternoon.

Brent Lee went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to pace the Rebels (1-1). Jacob Crowell allowed one run in five innings to pick up the win.

Gil Johnson had two hits for the Indians.

West Morgan next plays Saturday at 11 a.m. in the East Limestone Tournament.

Decatur 15, Plainview 9: Will Dennis went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs and Tyler Spivey went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Red Raiders.

Blaine Ingram picked up the win, allowing four runs on 5 1/3 innings pitched.

Athens 11, Ardmore 1: The Golden Eagles picked up their second win of the season in the East Limestone tournament. Kyle Chronister went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and Tyler Dorning went 3-for-4 with a single, double and triple. Brad Reasonover allowed one run on four innings pitched.

Hazlewood 11, Tharptown 10: Justin McCraw went 2-for-5 and had the game-winning double with two outs in the seventh to lead Hazlewood.

McCraw also pitched a complete game, striking out six and allowing 10 runs on seven hits. Ricky Posada and Josh Purser each went 4-for-4 with three runs scored.

East Lawrence 6, Rogers 0: Ethan Hopkins tossed four scoreless innings while striking out two and Justin Allen had a two-RBI double to lead East Lawrence (1-0). The Eagles next play Lauderdale County on Friday.

Priceville 20, New Hope 4: Dustin Chambers crushed a home run and finished with four RBIs while also striking out seven in three innings to pick up the win.

Eli Allen and Matt Croft each went 3-for-3 for the Bulldogs, who face Columbia on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Soccer

Grissom 3, Austin 1: Top-ranked Grissom scored three goals in
the first half and held off Austin (7-0-1) in the second to pick up the win.

Connor Bryan scored the fifth-ranked Black Bears' lone goal on an indirect kick in the second.

Priceville boys 4, West Limestone 0: The Bulldogs winning goal was scored by Jonathan Savoy, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at
halftime. Derrick Smith, Tim Savoy and Joey Barber each scored a goal in the second half. Lorand Dragu was in goal for the Bulldogs for the shutout.

Brewer 1, Hartselle 0: Kohl Sowder scored the lone goal and Sawyer McLemore got the shutout.

West Limestone girls 4, Priceville 1: Whitney Westmoreland scored the lone goal for Priceville.
