Pevahouse helps lift Hartselle over Decatur

Kristy Pevahouse drove in a run and scored twice to help Hartselle Highís softball team to a 3-1 win over Decatur on Monday.
Catie Keel was 1-for-3 with an RBI double for Hartselle (3-2), while Michel Fields was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Haley Miller was 1-for-2 with a run.
For Decatur (2-3), Lindsey Hawkins was 1-for-3 with a home run. Abi Lott added a single.
Breanna Segars got the pitching win for Hartselle. Decaturís Mollie Russell pitched seven innings and struck out eight.
West Limestone 10, West Morgan 8: For the Rebels, Daniel Korpi was 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a grand slam.
Cory Asher was 2-for-2, while Seth Wallace and Caleb Brown each were 2-for-4.
West Morgan 5, Elkmont 3: Josh McAbee was 3-for-4 for the Rebels, while Tyler Jones was 2-for-2. Michael Clem was 2-for-4.
Jacob Crowell was the winning pitcher, striking out five in six innings of work.
For Elkmont, Bobby Barton was 2-for-3, and Matthew Compton was 1-for-2 with a home run.
Hazel Green 4, Decatur 2: Red Raiders pitcher William Sartain allowed two runs and none earned in four innings of work in the Huntsville High tournament.
He also had a double and an RBI. Tyler Spivey added and RBI single, while John Frost had a double.
Alex Gist gave up two runs on two hits in three innings of relief.
Sparkman girls 3, Austin 2: The Lady Black Bears could not overcome two Sparkman back-to-back first-half goals and fell on the road.
Sparkmanís two first-half goals came at the five-minute mark, and the third was at the 35-minute mark of the second half.
For Austin (3-2), Jerica Carlson scored with 20 minutes remaining in the second half off an assist by Monica Jenness.
The Lady Black Bearsí last goal came when Anna Zellner shot the ball off a Sparkman defender and into the net with 0.3 seconds remaining.
Austin (3-2) will face Bob Jones at the Jack Allen Recreational Complex on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Florence girls 8, Austin 1: The Lady Black Bears got one win, which came from the No. 1 doubles team of Meleana McCutcheon and Elizabeth Cargile.
Florence boys 5, Austin 4: Austin won two singles matches and two in doubles.
Alex Worley won at No. 1 singles and Kyle Smith won at No. 2 singles. They combined to win at No. 1 doubles.
Kyle Justice and Ben Ward combined to win at No. 3 doubles.
