Jackson St. edges Alabama St.

Trey Johnson scored 26 points to help Jackson State end a two-game losing streak with a 69-65 victory over visiting Alabama State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game on Thursday night.
Johnson hit two free throws with 1:32 remaining in the game to give Jackson State (17-13, 11-6) a 66-65 lead after the Tigers battled back from a 59-53 deficit with 4:24 left.
Jackson State got a basket from Julius Young with 16 seconds left to seal the victory after trailing 42-35 at halftime.
Alabama State (10-18, 8-9) was lead by Andrew Hayes with 26 points and Richard Lott with 14.
Grambling St. 93, Alabama A&M 69: Andre Ratliff scored 27 points and reserve Kendric Baker added 23 as Grambling State defeated Alabama A&M.
Grambling (11-13, 9-8 SWAC), which scored 19 points off turnovers, led 49-36 at the half. In addition, the Tigers got 35 points from its bench — most from Baker — compared to just five for Alabama A&M (10-19, 4-13). Mickell Gladness scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead four Bulldogs with double figures.
