Meg Adams' three goals pace Decatur

From Staff Reports

Meg Adams scored three goals to help third-ranked Decatur beat Arab 6-0.

Adams scored the opening goal off an assist from Georgia Gamble just minutes into the game. Adams added a second goal with six minutes left in the first half. She then provided an assist to her sister, Sally Adams, who scored to stake Decatur to a 3-0 halftime lead.

Adams wasn't done. Less than two minutes into the second half she picked up her third goal to complete a hat trick.

Ali Dubach picked up Decatur's fifth goal off an assist from Anna Curl.

The final goal was scored by the Lady Red Raiders' starting goalkeeper, Shannon Laughlin, who passed the ball wide to Dubach on the flanks. Dubach crossed the ball into the box and Laughlin smashed the ball into the net from close range to close out the scoring on the night.

Laughlin and Rebecca Solley shared goalkeeping responsibilities and picked up the shutout for Decatur.

Decatur (5-5-3) will face rival Austin on Tuesday at Ogle Stadium at 6 p.m.
