Decatur High's boys won the first Morgan County golf tournament Monday afternoon at Quail Creek Golf Course in Hartselle, while Austin took the girls championship.
The Red Raiders' boys placed three golfers in the top six and shot 318, which was good for an 18-stroke lead over the field. Austin placed second with 336, followed by Hartselle (342), Priceville (352), Falkville (367), West Morgan (379), Decatur Heritage (408), Brewer (414) and Danville (419).
Decatur's Bill Nabors and Hartselle's Matthew Hill each shot 76 to lead the all-tournament squad.
The all-tournament team also included Falkville's Thomas Holt (78), Decatur's Stuart Morehead (79), Austin's Zach Gourgeot (80) and Decatur's Parker McAnnally (80).
Austin scored 132 to win the girls' division, which used a nine-hole format. Hartselle (136) finished second, followed by Falkville (186), Brewer (192) and Danville (199).
Austin's Sloan Davis (39) and Hartselle's Taylor Kirby (39) led the all-tournament team. They were joined by Austin's Kristen Askew (43), Priceville's Abbie Harris (47), Hartselle's Kaylon King (47) and Falkville's Stephanie Hargrove (47).
Hatton boys 193, East Lawrence 205: In a match at Deer Run Golf Course in Moulton, Jordan Jaggers (45) and Stephen Nesmith (49) paced Hatton.
For East Lawrence, Kolby Buttram (43) and Caleb Coan (45) led the way.
