Decatur High's tennis teams swept Lee-Huntsville on the road Tuesday with the girls winning 9-0 and the boys squeaking by 5-4.

In the girls match, Angee Stevens won at No. 1 singles, while Sarah Hodges won at No. 2. They combined to win at No. 1 doubles.

In singles, Decatur (6-1, 3-1 in Class 6A, Section 6) got wins from Mary Virginia Sherrill (No. 3), Emily Suggs (No. 4), Sarah Suggs (No. 5) and Burgoyne Fite (No. 6).

Sherrill and Emily Suggs won at No. 2 doubles, while Sarah Suggs and Fite won at No. 3.

In the boys matches, Decatur (2-5, 1-3) won four of six in singles.

Will Breland won at No. 3, while the Red Raiders got wins at No. 4 from Jonathan Rogers, No. 5 from Graham Powell and No. 6 from Blake Garrett. Powell and Garrett combined to win their match at No. 3 doubles.

Florence 5, Austin 4: The Black Bears' Alex Worley claimed two wins, beating Phil Claborne 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Then Worley and Kyle Smith won their match at No. 1 doubles. Austin's Taylor Collins (No. 5 singles) and Weston Brown (No. 6 singles) also won their matches.

Baseball

Decatur Heritage 17, Hazlewood 1: Drew Atchley led Decatur Heritage (8-10, 2-0 in Class 1A, Area 15).

Brent Denson added three singles and two RBIs. Chris Oliver had three singles, and Bo Godwin doubled twice. Chase Wright had two singles and three RBIs, and Zach Woodruff and Trent McLemore each had two singles and two RBIs. Sam Hurt singled twice.

Priceville 9, Lawrence County 4: Rand Hutchison doubled twice and added a single for the Bulldogs (24-6).

Kyle Bunnell and Heath Parker each had two singles for Priceville. Lance Hughes struck out seven Red Devils in seven innings to get the win. Wes Holley and Josh Gaines each homered for Lawrence County.

Hatton 14-17, Tanner 3-6: In the opener, Will Nichols was 3-for-5 with a double for Hatton, while Darren Hand was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.

The Hornets' Chris Hutto had a two-run homer, and Anthony Parker slugged a grand slam in the second inning.

In the second game, Hand was 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs. Caleb Hatton was 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Conner Pierce doubled twice and drove in two runs.

West Morgan 9-16, Falkville 4-6: West Morgan (21-6) scored four runs in the first and sixth innings in the opener. Josh McAbee was 4-for-4 with two doubles. Winning pitcher Daniel Korpi was 3-for-5 with a double, and Brent Lea was 3-for-4 with two doubles.

In the second game, Korpi was 4-for-4 with three doubles, and McAbee was 2-for-3 with a double. Lee was 2-for-5 and drove in four runs.

Golf

Athens boys 160, Decatur 165, Hartselle 192: Athens' Will Morrow shot 37, followed by Craig Whitt (40), Justin Fulks (41) and Andrew Rockwell (42).

For Decatur, Stuart Morehead led with 40, followed by Andrew Lowry (41), Parker McAnnally (42) and Bill Nabors (43). Hartselle's top golfers were Matthew Hill (45) and Josh Roberson (45).

Decatur girls 157, Hartselle 161, Athens 173: Rachael Dishman shot 39 to lead Decatur, while Whitney Johnston added a 53.

Taylor Kirby (39) and Kaylon King (54) paced Hartselle. For Athens, Courtney Medlen shot 56, and Alex Lann shot 58.

Priceville boys 160, Brewer 202: Brett Wilson shot 37 to lead Priceville's win, followed by Robert Varner (40), Andrew Johnson (41) and Nic Akin (42). Andrew Hudson's 47 led Brewer.

Priceville girls player Abbie Harris shot 41.

West Morgan boys 149, R.A. Hubbard 172: Justin Poole's 39 paced West Morgan, while Fred Davenport paced R.A. Hubbard with 55.

Softball

Lawrence County 12, Priceville 3: Winning pitcher Summer Wilkerson shined at the plate as well as on the mound for Lawrence County (23-8). She went 4-for-5 with three singles and a double. Whitney Hood had two doubles and three RBIs. Kassie Terry and Nicole Jackson each singled twice. Ashley Pitt added a single, a double and two RBIs.

East Lawrence 12, Fairview 4: Jayda Terry had two singles and a double and scored twice for East Lawrence, while Rachel Norton added two singles and a couple of RBIs.

Tiffany Terry singled four times and drove in two runs, and Kristen Alexander and Chelsea Alexander each had two singles and an RBI.

East Lawrence 9, Fairview 1: Tiffany Terry pitched four innings to get the win Monday and didn't give up a hit.

Jayda Terry led the winners with two triples, a single and two runs. Dana Maxwell added two singles, two RBIs and two runs. Lacey Harshbarer added two singles, two RBIs and two runs. Jayla May had two singles, a double and two RBIs.

West Morgan 5, Addison 2: Lauren Seibert went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. In addition, she got the pitching win after hurling seven innings and striking out 12.

Whitlee Potter singled and drove in a run, and Hayden Hamby drove in a run.

Soccer

West Morgan boys 2, Covenant Christian 0: Jared Spooner had a goal and an assist to lead the Rebels to their fifth win of the season.

Spooner's first-half goal came off an assist from Jorge Torreblanca. In the second half, an assist from Spooner aided Jeremy Williams' goal. Mike Phillips was in goal for West Morgan. West Morgan (5-6) will host Hartselle at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

East Limestone girls 9, Priceville 1: The Lady Bulldogs' goal came when Whitney Westmoreland passed to Whitley Scruggs, who chipped the ball just over the goalkeeper's head.

Priceville boys 2, Sheffield 0: Priceville's Justin Anderson scored with the assist by Joey Barber. Then the Sheffield goalkeeper deflected a shot taken by Jonathan Savoy, and the Bulldogs' Ryan Woodson was there to put it in, giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead at half.

Priceville Lorand Dragu recorded the shutout in goal.
