Calhoun wins twice over NW-Shoals

Calhoun racked up two wins over Northwest-Shoals in community college softball Wednesday, winning 6-1 and 12-3.
In the opening game, Calhoun scored four times in the first inning to set the tone for the day.
Winning pitcher Alicia Hall recorded four strikeouts. At the plate, she had two singles.
Breanna Holt clobbered a homer. Jenia Stephens had a triple, single and three RBIs. Courtney Terry added three singles. Stevie Griffin collected two singles, and Brittany Norton had a single.
In the second game, Griffin knocked in five runs with a triple, double and single. Lacey Keenum had a triple. Norton hit a double, and Breanna Lee and Ashley Blankenship, the winning pitcher, each had a single.
Calhoun (23-7) will play at Wallace-Hanceville at 2 p.m. Friday.
