Decatur got goals from Raul Alanis and Tom Gray to beat Brewer 2-1.

The Red Raiders (8-2-2) held a two-goal lead, but almost lost it near the end of the game. Kohl Sowder scored on a penalty kick, then the Patriots (8-3-1) had consecutive chances in the final two minutes.

First, Brewer had a free kick, followed by a corner kick, both of which the Patriots did not convert on.

"It was a nervous situation," said Decatur coach Brian Quarles. "Our defense stepped up. Everybody stepped up when we needed to."

Austin girls 10, West Morgan 0: Austin picked up its second shutout of the tournament, and with its bevy of goals in both games, finished the day with 20 total points. That puts the Lady Black Bears on top with Decatur after the first day. Austin's overall record improved to 9-10.

In this one, Austin led 4-0 at the break, with Sara Brown putting in two goals. Meredith Kirk and Emily Reeves also scored. The Lady Black Bears put the game away in the second half, though, scoring six more goals. Brown added another to complete the hat trick, while Leah Kelly added two goals. Jennifer Zellner and Anna Zellner had a goal each.

Austin girls 8, Hartselle 0: The Lady Black Bears scored six goals in the second half to down the Lady Tigers (2-8-0) and pick up the 10 total points.

Sara Brown picked up the hat trick, scoring three goals. Leah Kelly notched two and Leah Brown scored one. Jennifer Zellner also scored one.

Leslie Kirk added two assists as did Brown for Austin.

Decatur girls 5, Priceville Girls 0: The Lady Red Raiders (8-6-3) picked up their second shutout of the tournament, crushing Priceville (6-4) behind two goals from Meg Adams. Ali Daubach picked up a goal, as did Hillary Papich and Sally Adams.

Hartselle girls 1, Brewer 1: The Lady Tigers had several chances in the end, but ultimately tied the Lady Patriots.

Brewer took a first half lead on a goal by Hannah Chunn, but Hartselle answered in the second when Ashley Self put a shot in the back of the net off an assist by Kristie Osborne.

With time winding down, Hartselle had several chances from point-blank range, but couldn't convert as both teams picked up four points.

Priceville girls 3, West Morgan 0: After dueling to a scoreless first half, Priceville (6-4) erupted for three second-half goals while holding onto the shutout. That gave the Lady Bulldogs 10 coveted points heading into their second match of the day.

Stephanie Varner picked up the first goal, scoring from the top of the 18-yard box. Marie Kaminsky gave Priceville its second goal, scoring from just in front of the goal line. Whitlee Scruggs finished the scoring when her shot from three yards beyond the left corner of the 18-yard box found net.

West Morgan 2, Priceville 0: Brad Corbin scored two goals to lead the Bulldogs (6-9) over the Rebels (7-6). Corbin's first goal came on a penalty kick in the first half, and his second came on a Blake Williams assist in the second for West Morgan.
