The lone goal in Decatur's 1-0 win over Austin wasn't pretty, but it did the job for the Lady Red Raiders.

At about the 20-minute mark of the first half, Georgia Gamble booted a ball from midfield that bounced over Austin goalie Stephanie White's head for the eventual game winner.

"(The game) was just like all Austin, Decatur games," said Decatur coach Mike Pline.

"There was a lot of nervous energy, but we settled down around the 20-minute mark."

Overall, Decatur (10-6-3) took the play to the Lady Black Bears (9-11), outshooting them 11-5.

But despite the miscue that led to the goal, Austin goaltender Stephanie White was solid, stopping most of Decatur's shots and making several point blank saves. Still, it was not enough.

"They outshot us and hustled to the ball better," said Austin coach Richie Simon.

Austin 2, Priceville 0: Leah Brown dribbled unaided through the Priceville half of the field and sent in the Lady Black Bears' first goal of the game. On the second, Leah Kelly scored a goal that Leslie Kirk assisted on. Priceville falls to 6-6.

Decatur boys 6, West Morgan 0: Decatur (10-2-2) got a goal and an assist from Tom Gray, Michael Alfano and Raul Alanis. It also got goals from Scott Sumners, Clay Strickland and Francisco Lopez.

West Morgan's (6-10) Jeremy Williams who had two goals in the Rebels' win against Priceville on Tuesday had one of West Morgan's few scoring chances in the second half.

Decatur girls 6, Hartselle 0: Decatur took a first half lead and built on it in the second to pick up the win over the Lady Tigers (2-9-1).

Judeth McMahan and Megan Schmidt each had two goals. Sarah Beth Henderson and Gamble each added goals to pick up the 10 tournament points.

Brewer 4, West Morgan 0: Laura Thomas notched two goals and an assist to lead the Lady Patriots (7-4-2). Arlee Sowder notched a goal and an assist while Hannah Chunn had a goal.

West Morgan goalkeepers Rachel Gentry and Caree Alexander totaled seven saves in goal for the Lady Rebels (1-14-2).

Brewer girls 3, Priceville 0: Freshman Arlee Sowder scored two goals to lead the Lady Patriots. Laura Thomas picked up Brewer's third goal on a penalty kick.

Decatur boys 1, Priceville 0: Decatur took 20 shots, one of which going in off the foot of Tom Gray in the second half.

Priceville goalie Lorand Dragu held his own, for a Bulldog (7-7) team that took two shots the entire game.

Hartselle boys 4, Priceville 0: Joey Johnson gave Hartselle a 1-0 first-half that held up until his teammates could find the back of the net in the second half. Johnson assisted on Tyler Ray's goal for a 2-0 lead, then Matt Walker lifted a shot over Priceville's keeper's head and into the net for a 3-0 lead.

Tony Villano capped the scoring on goal assisted by Matt Phelps.

Hartselle girls 1, West Morgan 0: Ashley Self tallied the lone goal late in the game. Rachel Walker assisted. But the story in this one was the goalkeeper play. Hartselle's Raine Nicholas picked up the shutout, while West Morgan's Rachel Gentry recorded 12 saves.
