Calhoun takes 2 from Gadsden

Kala Weatherly had a triple, double and three singles to help Calhoun take a doubleheader from
Gadsden State 7-1, 6-2 in college softball action Thursday.

Weatherly scored a run in the second inning of the first game and had three RBIs, also.

Jenia Stephenson had three singles and a double in the sweep.

Ashley Blankenship and Brittany Norton had three singles for Calhoun (31-9).

Kim Haney had a pair of singles while Lacey Keenum, Breanna Lee and Courtney Terry each singled.

Alicia Hall got the win in the opener, improving her record to 14-4.

Lee struck out five in the second game to earn the victory.

Calhoun hosts Wallace State-Hanceville at 1 p.m. Saturday. The game will be at the Athens State University softball field.
