Calhoun softball drops two games

GADSDEN — Gadsden State took two games from Calhoun Community College in softball action 4-0 and 4-3 Tuesday.

In the opener Lacey Keenum and Ashley Blankenship had a pair of singles. Kim Haney, Brittany North, Kala Weather and Brittany Chaffin each added a single.

In game two, Calhoun got a run-scoring double from Courtney Terry in the first inning that scored Keenum, who had reached on a single. Stevie Griffin, Kala Weatherly and Terry each doubled in the seventh inning to tie the game at 3.

Gadsden scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to win.

Calhoun (31-13) will play Southern Union at 2 p.m. Thursday.

It's the Lady Warhawks' first game in their new on-campus softball stadium.
