2 Speake hurlers no-hit

Sophomore Kylie Black and ninth-grader Sarah Bolan combined to toss a no-hitter as Speake drummed Mount Hope 10-0 in high school softball action in Speake on Wednesday afternoon.
Black struck out six and allowed no walks in four innings, while Bolan struck out three and walked one in two innings.
Speake’s Melea Hensley had the big stick for the Lady Bobcats with a double, single and three RBIs.
Paige Atkins hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning to open the margin to 8-0.
Bridgett Fulks had a single, double and RBI. Black hit a double and had an RBI. Bolan and McKenzie Black each singled in the victory.
Speake (28-10) takes on Lexington at 3 p.m. Friday in a contest played at Mount Hope.
The Class 1A, Area 11 tournament begins Monday at Meek. The draw has not been decided.
Priceville 4, Brewer 2: On senior night, senior Caitlin Williams allowed two runs on three hits in seven innings pitched for the Lady Bulldogs. Williams also had two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Sumer Boyd had a double and a run while Emily Childers had a single and an RBI.
McKinsey Stump knocked a solo home run for Brewer and Megan Lawrence allowed six hits on seven innings pitched.
Decatur girls 4, Lee 0: The Lady Red Raiders wrapped up the Class 5A Section 7 title with the win. Decatur moves on to the state playoffs Tuesday.
Georgia Gamble, Meg Adams, Tara Givens and Haley Rutherford scored the goals for the Lady Red Raiders (13-7-4).
Priceville boys 169, Falkville 185, Cold Springs 251: Brett Wilson shot a low score of 38 for the winning Bulldogs. Robert Varner shot a 39 and Nic Akin shot a 43.
Dustin Gatlin had the low score for Falkville with 41 and Thomas Holt shot a 42.
