Calhoun set to debut softball stadium
From Staff Reports
Calhoun Community College's softball team will play for the first time in its new on-campus stadium Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Lady Warhawks will host Bevill State-Sumiton in a doubleheader.
Rachael Carden, Calhoun's team captain in 2006, will throw out the first pitch. The school will make hotdogs, drinks and spirit shakers available free to fans.
Calhoun originally was to debut its new stadium with a Thursday doubleheader, but the ground was too saturated from rain to allow the LadyWarhawks to play.
Calhoun's program is only in its second season since the school re-instated athletics after a four-year absence.
The Lady Warhawks have posted a 31-13 record this season, including 8-6 in the Alabama Community College Conference.
