Alabama, Auburn fall
in road SEC games

Edward Easley and Mitch Moreland each hit back-to-back home runs in Mississippi State's 4-1 victory over Auburn on Friday in the first of a three-game series in Starkville, Miss.
It was Easley's 11th round-tripper, while Moreland has now hit six. MSU (29-12, 11-9 SEC) played the game against Auburn (28-20, 7-15) before 3,037 at Dudy Noble Field.
Chad Crosswhite (6-2) allowed three hits and one run (earned) in seven innings of work. Aaron Weatherford got his third save after pitching a perfect eighth and ninth.
Both teams play again Saturday at 6 p.m.
Florida 6, Alabama 2: Cody Neer blasted two home runs to help Florida beat Alabama at home Friday night.
Neer homered in the second and forth innings. He also singled up the middle in the fifth inning. Jon Townsend tripled down the right field line in the fifth and later scored. He recorded two hits and one RBI for Florida (24-23,11-11).
Matt Bentley scored Alabama's first run in the forth inning when Jake Smith flied out to center field. Brandon May got the only other run for Alabama (26-21,10-12) in the eighth inning. He scored when Brandon Belcher flied out to left field.
Florida's Kyle Mullaney (3-1) pitched 7 1/3 innings for the win and David Hurst picked up the save. Losing pitcher Tommy Hunter (5-4) also spent 7 1/3 innings on the mound.
