Tyler Odle hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning to power Alabama to a 7-5 win over Florida in Gainesville, Fla., on Sunday.
Odle’s home run off Florida pitcher Josh Edmondson came with one out in the 10th and drove in pinch runner Jeff Texada.
Matt Bentley and Kyle Moore each recorded two hits and one RBI for Alabama (27-22, 11-13 Southeastern Conference), which had lost the first two games of the series. Moore and Emeel Salem both homered in the fifth for Alabama. Salem also scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning.
Florida (25-24, 12-12) rallied late to tie the game in the ninth inning when Avery Barnes hit a solo home run to right field and Jon Townsend later scored on a double from Austin Pride.
Austin Hyatt (5-1) got the win for Alabama. Florida’s David Hurst (2-1) picked up the loss.
Mississippi State 9, Auburn 5: Mississippi State’s Andy Rice hit a walk-off grand slam and Mississippi State swept Auburn with a win Sunday.
The Bulldogs (31-12, 13-9) swept Auburn (28-22, 7-17) for the first time since the 2001 season and swept a home conference series for the first time since taking three games from Ole Miss in 2002.
The Bulldogs are two games behind Arkansas in the SEC Western Division standings.
Ricky Bowen (5-1) pitched a shutout ninth inning to record the win.
In the ninth inning tied 5-5, Mitch Moreland singled to right field to start the at-bat. Brian LaNinfa sacrificed Moreland to second base. After pinch hitter Brandon Turner drew an intentional walk, another walk to Conner Powers loaded the bases. Rice followed with his second homer of the year.
Jeffrey Rea had four of Mississippi State’s 14 hits as the Bulldogs battled back from an early 3-0 deficit.
