Player of the year

IF: Sallie Beth Burch, Lawrence County, Sr.: Led the Lady Red Devils in nine offensive categories and was also a defensive force at second base and shortstop. Batted .464 this season with an on-base percentage of .581. Paced Lawrence County to the state tournament for the first time in the fast-pitch era with 60 RBIs and 85 hits, including 13 home runs and 18 doubles. Also scored a team-best 61 runs this season.

P: Mollie Russell, Decatur, So.: Posted nine shutouts this season and tossed two no-hitters. Decatur's ace went 24-11, struck out 259 batters and posted a 2.18 ERA, as the Lady Red Raiders made it to the second round of the sub-state in Class 5A.

P: Breanna Segars, Hartselle, Sr.: Went 25-2 this season with a save, posting an 0.82 ERA. Had 19 shutouts and struck out 152 batters in 153 innings as Hartselle reached the second round of the sub-state in Class 5A.

P: Summer Wilkerson, Lawrence County, So.: Went 20-6 on the mound as the Lady Red Devils reached the state tournament in Class 4A. Struck out 181 batters in 157 innings with a 1.38 ERA. Also batted .318 with 70 hits, including 16 doubles, three triples and 25 RBIs while scoring 59 runs.

C: Sarah Corn, Austin, Fr.: Helped pace the Lady Black Bears behind the plate defensively, but was also one of their offensive leaders. Hit .377 this season with two home runs.

C: Whitney Fletcher, Decatur, So.: Batted leadoff for the Lady Red Raiders, hitting .365 with 58 hits, and 29 RBIs, while scoring 50 runs. Had six home runs, seven doubles and four triples.

C: Nichole Jackson, Lawrence County, So.: Had an on-base percentage of .387 this season with 58 hits, including three triples. Scored 51 runs.

IF: Ali Barnette, Austin, Jr.: The shortstop batted .311 for the Lady Black Bears. Hit two home runs.

IF: Whitley Collins, Hartselle, Sr.: The second baseman batted .348 with 57 hits, including 17 doubles, two triples and 32 RBIs. Scored 39 runs.

IF: Morgan Franks, East Limestone, Jr.: The first baseman hit .352 this season with an on-base percentage of .407. Hit two home runs for the Lady Indians, who reached the second round of the sub-state in Class 4A.

IF: Lindsey Hawkins, Decatur, So.: Batted .413 this season with 71 hits, while playing shortstop for the Lady Red Raiders. Had 20 doubles, six home runs, 37 RBIs and 46 runs.

IF: Whitney Hood, Lawrence County, So.: Played first base for the Lady Red Devils, batting .323 with 50 RBIs and 39 runs. Her 64 hits included 17 doubles and two triples.

IF: Jyssica Pepper, East Limestone, Fr.: The shortstop batted .381 with an on-base percentage of .426. Also stole 27 bases.

IF: Caitlin Williams, Priceville, Sr.: A five-year starter at shortstop for the Lady Bulldogs. Hit .350, including 14 doubles and three triples, and scored 34 runs as Priceville advanced to the sub-state in Class 4A for the Lady Indians.

OF: Kristy Pevahouse, Hartselle, Jr.: Hit .377 with 36 RBIs and 25 stolen bases. Her 80 hits included 11 doubles, eight triples and five home runs. Also scored 62 runs.

OF: Rebecca Stephenson, Austin, Sr.: Played center field for the Lady Black Bears. A slap hitter, she batted .298 this season.

UTL: Casey Steadman, Ardmore, Jr.: Recorded eight shutouts as a pitcher and struck out 309 batters in 181 innings, earning a 18-11 record with three saves and a 1.93 ERA. Was also a force at the plate, batting .373 with 47 hits, including eight home runs, as Ardmore reached the second round of the sub-state in Class 4A.

DH: Kayla Orr, Hartselle, Sr.: The Lady Tigers' power hitter smashed 17 home runs this season. Batted .440 with 80 hits, including 16 doubles and four triples with 64 RBIs. The shortstop also scored 51 runs for Hartselle.
