Alabama coach Nick Saban brought home two big recruiting commitments recently for the Class of 2008.
On Friday, 6-foot-7, 285-pound offensive lineman Tyler Love of Mountain Brook announced his public commitment to the Crimson Tide. Then Saturday, North Florida Christian wide receiver Melvin Ray of Tallahassee, Fla., announced that he will sign with the Tide
Love is a five-star prospect according to rivals.com and a four-star prospect according to Scout.com. He picked Alabama over Florida, Florida State and Oklahoma. He is Rivals.com’s 27th-ranked prospect and ranked second in the state of Alabama.
Ray is a four-star prospect according to both Rivals and Scout.
The 6-foot-3, 202-pound receiver runs the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds. He chose Alabama over Florida and Florida State.
“The facilities were top notch, as well as the coaching staff and just their program in general,” Ray told Rivals.com. “Alabama takes a lot of pride in perfecting everything on the football field and their attention to detail was very impressive.”
The two public commitments put Saban’s 2008 recruiting class at 12 players.
